About Be Well-
Be Well for Life is an evidence-based lifestyle intervention program delivered through the direct supervision of Blessing Physician Services Cardiologist Dr. Irving Schwartz. The program assists participants in making permanent lifestyle changes by providing in-depth nutrition, exercise and stress-management education, as well as a network of support in a positive, nurturing environment. The “comprehensive mind-body approach” addresses the mental, emotional, physical, environmental, and spiritual aspects of a person’s life. Be Well for Life recognizes that wellness requires attention to all components of life, as opposed to taking a more narrow focus, such as weight loss only.
Through their outcome-based approach, the program will help prevent and manage chronic conditions such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, fatty liver disease, and anxiety/depression. The 16-week program is designed to help participants identify risks and improve overall health through a variety of ways, including health risk assessments, physician consultations, wellness coaching sessions, group nutrition education and individual nutrition consultations with a registered dietitian, group therapy with an outpatient cognitive behavioral therapist, stress-management training with a physician, yoga classes with a registered yoga teacher, individualized exercise programs, and tobacco cessation counseling. The cost of the program is affordable to employers and employees.
Lunch will be served.
